Lecture
This lecture was only a short lecture with some example of different ways to make a model in this blog post I will do the same however most of the lessons were focused on making our own model as this type of work is better done using trial and error.

The model above has been built on the terrain the building will be built on, this is an important factor to remember because it changes the design of the building.

This model is my favourite as I really like that the hinges on the door means you can see into the interior as well which is very relevant for this course.

And it is important to remember human scale in the model work, using small figures can really help with this to show the size of the space they are in.
My Work
The photos below are the model that I created, I included a model of my client to show the scale because both the desks and the shelves are large but are created to be this way.
I used cardboard to create the structure of the room including the window, I then added the floor in using bolster wood and the same for the shelves, I used hard wood for the desk because I wanted it to be the main feature.
On the first photo I added a view and some sketches over the top as the empty shelves made the space feel bland.
The other photos are of different angles using different effects.
Since creating my model I have learnt more about the workshops and the laser cutter and if I was do do this again I would create a wooden table using the laser cutter to be more precise and for the wood to not be so thick as I think it is too much and makes it look larger than it is supposed to although it is meant to be the centre of attention it looks a bit much using the wood I used. In the first image it looks as though the man is really small but I think it is the angle the photo was taken at because I measured both the man and the table at 1:20 scale and it doesn’t look so large in the final image.
